India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act is live. Most people assume that means their privacy is now protected. Adv. Jaanvi Sharma explains why that’s a misreading of what the law does.
Jaanvi is a data protection lawyer advising organisations on DPDPA and GDPR implementation, a PhD researcher in data protection, and the founder of the Women Data Protection Foundation. She works primarily with fintech, banking and BFSI clients, and lectures on cyber law at universities.
In this conversation with Rohan Patil, she covers the gap between what the law promises and what it delivers, the hiring problem inside India’s privacy teams, and why she built a foundation focused specifically on women’s data.
Guest: Adv. Jaanvi Sharma — Data protection lawyer | Founder, Women Data Protection Foundation | PhD researcher
